Creating and implementing release management procedure for a large Dutch city 


Situation
A Dutch city is starting a big project and is dependent on a supplier that develops and delivers software. This supplier has no affiliation with current release management procedures. GTP has been given the task of creating this affiliation.
An added demand is the fact that there is little to no budget for extra human resources or new hardware.
 
Decision
  • GTP proposes the use of an “open source” product (Subversion)
  • Formulating a procedure that incorporates release management
  • Obtaining commitment from the project leaders
